Chrome download settings: Change the destination of downloaded files in Chrome. By default, Chrome saves all downloaded files in the same location, a dedicated “Downloads” folder. This is not always practical. The good news is that you can easily change this setting.
It can change the default download location or ask where to save each individual file.
The best part is that both settings are in the same place, which makes it super easy to tweak or tweak as you see fit.
Change the destination of downloaded files in Chrome
First open Chrome, click on the three dots in the upper right corner to open the Chrome menu, then select “Settings”.
Then, scroll all the way to the bottom and choose "Show advanced settings".
Finally, scroll roughly down until you see the “Downloads” section.
This is where you will find all the options available to fine-tune your download settings. If you want to change the default download location, just click the "Change" button and select the new location.
If you prefer to choose where each file is downloaded individually. Check the “Ask where to save each file before downloading” box.
That's all done
