When trying to install a new printer, many users report that they have encountered a message shown below:

The printer cannot be installed. Another printer or printer with this name already exists

Now the main reason this happens is that the Windows 10 registry has an entry that was not deleted when you deleted the old printer with the same name. The trick is to delete that registry entry and get rid of this error.

So, here are the simple steps to fix this error.

Note: - Before making any changes to the registry editor, go to File -> Export and backup your registry settings.

1] Press Tasto Windows + R open the run.

2] Now write regedit on it and press Log in key.

3] Once the Registry Editor is open, find the following location: -

• HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
• SYSTEM
• CurrentControlSet
• Control
• Print
• Printers

4] Now, To remove any registry keys on the right side with the same name related to the old printer name.

5] Now, close the Registry Editor.

6] Now press Windows and R keys together to open RUN still.

7] Now type services.msc on it and press Enter.

8] Now, find Print spooler Service.

9] Right click on it and click Stop.

10] Right click on it and click Home.

Now try again. Your problem will most likely be solved
