Error "Only part of a ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request completed"

Error

When working on your Windows 10 PC, you may encounter many types of software and even hardware related errors at times. One of those error messages you may encounter is "Only part of a completed ReadProcessMemory or WriteProcessMemory request". This error appears every time you try to open installation files and applications.

The problem with this error is that it appears quite frequently, at any random moment which is frustrating. You may also encounter this error when you have a couple of apps open in the background. So what causes this error? Apparently, this complicated error occurs due to memory problems and is quite difficult to diagnose. It can also indicate that the operating system is unable to read or write the request.

Fortunately, there are a couple of methods available that can work around this problem. Let's see how.

Method 1: restart your PC

Step 1: Many times half of the problems are solved simply by restarting the PC. For example, if the system crashes, the browser does not respond, an application does not open or close, etc. This error can be something like this.

You can try restarting Explorer or just restarting your PC and the ReadProcess Memory error should go away. You can also check if the error goes away by disabling any third-party antivirus software running on your PC or Windows Defender Firewall.

These are some simple techniques that can fix the problem, but if not, try the second method.

Method 2: Run the Disk Check Utility

Step 1: Go to yours Desk and left click What PC. Once open, on the right side of the panel, go to C drive, right click on it and select Property in the context menu.

Method 3: deleting bad temporary files

Many times the error can be caused by a faulty temporary file that required the removal of an administrator right. Although you can try to delete the temporary files, the actual problem file may still remain untracked and therefore will not be deleted as it requires administrator access. So, follow the steps below to remove the problem file.

Step 1: To go Google and search Download di Process Monitor. Left click on the first result to open the link.

Step 2: On the official Microsoft download page, click Download Process Monitor link in blue.

The path to the temporary file might look like this:

C:Users[username]AppDataLocalMicrosoftWindowsTemporary Internet Files

*Note - You can replace the highlighted part (username) with your username.

After removing the faulty temporary file, you should no longer see the error, but if it still appears, try the fourth method.

Method 4: uninstalling BITDEFENDER Anti Ransomware

Many times, it could be recently installed software that could interfere with the system hardware and one of them is the BITDEFENDER Anti Ransomware software. This is software that many users download to protect themselves from malicious software such as ransomware.

However, it has also been reported that this software creates problems with the system, one of which is interfering with the system process leading to memory related errors. So the best thing to do would be to uninstall BITDEFENDER Anti Ransomware, restart your PC and boom, your error should be gone!

That's all. You can try any or all of these methods and the memory error should go away, ensuring smooth access to your system, applications and installation files.
