In Windows 10, there are many adjustments you can make on the taskbar. If you feel your taskbar is too cluttered with apps or want to do some customization, I'm sure this post will be of great help.
# 1 - Hide system icons in the system tray
The taskbar consists of icons such as volume control, battery status, network status, etc. If you want to remove or change the icons displayed on the taskbar, follow the procedure below.
1 - Press Windows key + I together to open settings.
2 - Click Customization.
3 - Also, click Application bar.
4 - Now click on select the icons to be displayed on the taskbar.
4 - Toggle the options sopra o off to choose or delete icons.
# 2 - Change the color of the taskbar
You can change the color of the taskbar and set it to your favorite!
1 - Open settings from the Start menu or by pressing Win + me.
2 - Click Customization.
3 - Click Colors. Scroll down and select the option that says "Show the accent color on the following surfaces "
# 3 - Delete icon from task view
For the task view feature, you have the keyboard shortcut Alt + Tab. So to get some extra space, you can remove the task view icon from the taskbar.
1 - The right mouse button in the empty space in taskbar.
2 -Click on Show activity view and button option deselect that.
For devices such as tablets or notes that have a touch keyboard, it would not be recommended to remove this icon.
# 4 - Show Cortana as an icon
We all have the Cortana bar which takes up most of the space on the taskbar. Unlike other apps you've pinned to the taskbar, Cortana takes up more space. Now if you have too many programs or apps on your taskbar and you think the taskbar is full, you can make Cortana appear as an icon. This would free up a lot of space on the taskbar, which is exactly what you want! That is how:
- Right-click on the empty space on the taskbar. Move the mouse Cortana.
- Click on Show Cortana Cor icon.
As you can see in the image below, Cortana will now appear as an icon.
Now if you want to remove Cortana completely, you can choose the file Hidden away option. Cortana can still be accessed using the following keyboard shortcuts.
Win + S - To open Cortana in keyboard input mode
Victory + C - To open Cortana in listening mode
# 5 - Move the taskbar left or right
1 - Right-click on an empty space of taskbar and click Taskbar settings.
2 - Now you can choose the position of the taskbar on the screen and change it to left, right, down or up as your wish and preference. Just choose any option from Location of the taskbar on the screen.
# 6 - Automatically hide the taskbar
When you open a document and want it to take up the entire screen space, you can hide the taskbar and make it appear only when the mouse is near it. This way, you'll have more space if you're using a device with a small screen.
1 - Right-click on an empty space on the taskbar and click Taskbar settings.
2 - Activate / deactivate Automatically hide the taskbar option Top to automatically hide Tasbar in desktop mode.
Another option you can try is Use the small buttons on the taskbar. This would make your taskbar sleek and compact when you have a lot of apps taking up all the space.
So these are ways you can easily customize the taskbar in Windows 10 to suit your needs.
