Before starting with the solutions, make sure you have created a restore point. Next, follow the methods to fix this problem.
Method 1: set permissions
In most cases, this error is caused by a log error. So in this method we will try to edit and fix the registry. But, before doing any operation with the registry, always make sure that you have created a backup of the registry. After that, follow the steps mentioned below.
Step 1. Go to Cortana and select run.
Step 2. generally regedit in the Run window and click ok. Click on Yup to the confirmation request.
Step 3. Now on the left side of the log window, follow the path below.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER> Software> Microsoft> Windows NT> CurrentVersion> Windows
Step 4. Right-click on windows folder and select Permissions.
Step 5. Select the Directors count low Group or user namesand then make sure the Total control is marked to allow. Click ok after that.
Do the same for your file as well Username also.
Step 6 - Delete the following key if it is on the right side.

- LegacyDefaultPrinterMode
- UserSelectedDefault
Step 8. Restart your computer after completing the last step.

Method 3: prevent Windows from managing the default printer
Windows has a feature that allows you to manage the default printer based on the last one used in a particular location. This doesn't always work perfectly and is known to create the 0x00000709 error. Therefore, we will disable this feature in this method. Follow the steps to perform this method.
Step 1. Right-click on Start menu and select settings.
Step 2. Leave devices.
Step 3. Please select Printers and scanners in the menu on the left.
Step 4. Here, disable Let Windows manage my default printer by unchecking the box next to it.
Step 5. Restart your computer.
This should fix the problem. If the error is still not resolved, follow the next method.
Method 4: manually configure the default printer
After disabling the function to manage the default printer, we manually select the default printer. Follow the steps to perform this method.
Step 1. Go to Cortana and type Control Panel. Select the same from the results.
Step 2. Please select Hardware and sound.
Step 3. Leave Tools and printers.
Step 4. Right-click on the printer and select Set as Default Printer.
Step 5. Restart your computer.

Method 5: repair damaged system files
Many errors simply occur due to corrupt system files. In this method, we will repair damaged system files via SFC scan and DISM tool. Follow the steps to perform this method.
Run the SFC scan
Step 1. Go to Cortana and type Symbol of the system. Right click on Symbol of the system give the results and select Run as administrator.
Step 2. Enter the following command in the command prompt window and press Log in.
sfc / scannow
Step 3. Wait for the scan and repair process to complete. This can take up to 15 minutes.
Step 4. When the process is complete, restart your computer.
Run the DISM tool
Step 1. Go to Cortana and type Symbol of the system. Right click on Symbol of the system give the results and select Run as administrator.
Step 2. Enter the following command in the command prompt window and press Log in.
DISM / Online / Cleanup Image / RestoreHealth
Step 3. Wait for the DISM tool to finish the scan and repair process. This will take at least 20 minutes, so be patient.
Step 4. When the DISM tool finishes repairing the files, restart your computer.
This should fix the problem. If the problem persists, follow the method below.
Method 6: create a new user account
If nothing has worked for you so far, you need to create a new user account. Follow the steps to create a new user account to fix the problem.
Step 1. Right-click on the file Start menu and select run.
Step 2. generally netplwiz Run and click ok.
Step 3. Under the users tab, select Inserisci to create a new user account.
Step 4. The last step will open How will this person register? screen. Here, click Sign in without a Microsoft account (not recommended).
Step 5. On him Add a user screen, select Account locale.
Step 6. In this step, complete the file User Name, Password Y Reenter password of your choice for the new user account. Do not enter anything Password hint. Now click The next and follow the on-screen instructions to create the new user account.
