If you really wanted your computer's operation / performance to be rated like movies, TV shows, etc., this was the feature that would help you. It is basically an index or number that shows exactly the performance of the computer, its speed when running various software and various other parameters related to the functioning of the operating system on the PC. A secondary score is generated for each component, namely Processor, Memory (RAM), Graphics, Gaming Graphics, and Primary Hard Drive. The base score is generated as the lowest partial score of any component. A higher base score certainly shows your computer running faster and smoother than one with a low base score. WEI (Windows Experience Index) helps you identify the weakest components in your PC and helps you identify them for further evaluation for better performance.
The Windows Experience Index score ranges from 1,0 to 7,9.
This feature was introduced with Vista and continued with Windows 8. With Windows 8.1 and 10, you need to install third parties to have this feature. You can download two software, which are absolutely free to have WEI on Windows 10. The two software of this type are: ChrisPC Win Experience Index and WinAero WEI Tool.
ChrisPC's win experience rating
This is free software for non-commercial use. This software is available in a wide range of languages: English, German, French, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, Romanian, Polish and Finnish. Apart from this software, there are other ChrisPC software that serve various purposes, whether it is to improvise graphics or to manage computer memory more intelligently than before.
After installing this software, click “Evaluate this computer”. The Windows System Assessment Tool (WinSAT) will test your PC. The scores will be calculated. Although, on some PCs, WinSAT will not show scores. Click More Details to view the error causing it. You can also rerun your assessments.
It can run both 32-bit and 64-bit on Windows 10. It should have more than 128MB of RAM and approx. 10 MB of hard disk space. This software shows some lag and during installation it may add errors to your PC. So, be careful while downloading, otherwise your PC may be infected.
WEI WinAero tool
The latest version is 1.0.0.1. You can download it as a ZIP file and unzip it to get an .exe file which, once opened, will give you the WEI directly. It looks almost the same as Microsoft's original Windows Experience Index. It has also proven to be a better alternative to the ChrisPC Win Experience index and predicts the index accurately. You can also rerun the assessment. Here you can save your WEI as an HTML file. You can also take the screenshot and save it as a PNG file or upload the image to ImgUr.
It is WEI's best free tool, which gives you the best and most accurate analysis of your computer's performance, without lags or bugs like other software does. This is because it has Windows core components, which really help you give an accurate estimate of your computer's base scores.
In this fast-paced world, development is the key to sustainability. More and more software is coming. So there may be better software than we have for WEI. Be on the lookout for someone if you pass by and get in touch with us.
