There are of course much more serious uses for AI, and some are actually a lot of fun, like Google's latest Emoji Scavenger Hunt.
What is Google's Emoji Scavenger Hunt?
Google's Emoji Scavenger Hunt is a fun game that you can play using your phone's camera. Basically, you load the site and embark on a treasure hunt, looking for objects that Google throws at you, and a neural network will try to identify what the camera is pointing at.
All you need to do to get started is:
- Go to on your phone.
- Tap the button Let’s Play .
- You will start with 20 seconds left, and after the faster you find the items in the treasure hunt, the more time will be added.
- You will have to touch Next Emoji so that Google can take you to the next item.
They recommend keeping the sound on to hear instructions, but it's not absolutely necessary. It's interesting, though, because you can hear all the elements being identified as they enter the camera view.
Google says the game works best with the latest versions of Android and iOS operating systems and browsers. If you are concerned about privacy none of the images from your camera are collected or stored and you can also check them out.
