In recent months there has been talk of the alleged return of your historical titles developed by Rockstar in the form of Remastered, we are obviously talking about GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption. Everyone in the industry was convinced that it would only be a matter of time and that sooner or later the US software house would release the two remastered but, probably, it will not.
The indiscretion came from the insider Tez2, always informed on the events of the development company which, among others, gave birth to the title as Bully. Here are the words released through his Twitter account:
According to a very reliable source with a strong precision in revealing the future plans of the Rockstar house, the remastered of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption were on the table a few years ago, but the US software house has decided not to proceed further with these projects. The lack of success experienced by GTA - The Trilogy could be one of the reasons behind this decision.
In short, it would seem that Rockstar no longer has any intention of focusing on the Remastered of GTA IV, one of the most loved chapters of the entire franchise, and of Red Dead Redemption. And the reason, according to the source cited by Tez2, would be to be found in the disaster of GTA - The Trilogy.
And indeed, the ambitious Rockstar Games project that brought back to life through more than questionable remastered masterpieces like GTA III, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas was a total failure. It also didn't help the landing of GTA: San Andreas on Xbox Game Pass.
Probably, the never demonstrated desire to revive GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption combined with the poor reception of the remastered trilogy released last year have caused the stop to the project that fans of these titles have been waiting for for a long time.
Recall that since this is not official information, it must be taken with a grain of salt. At this point, we just have to wait for statements in this sense from Rockstar.
