GTA Online has officially landed on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X / S. Rockstar gave the possibility of being able to transfer your own characters and saves from the old-gen version of the title to the next-gen version. However, numerous users have encountered several problems in that passage of GTA Online, risking to lose all saved data, especially as regards the transition from PS4 and PS5.
This leads to the cancellation of all progress made up to that point on the starting console. Thus, with data transfer, players see their character vanish, along with all cash and any items purchased within the game. Furthermore, it should be noted that GTA Online does not allow you to take advantage of cross-play in multiplayer mode between consoles of different generations. Therefore, PS4 or Xbox One users of GTA Online will not be able to meet the owners of PS5 and Xbox Series X / S, even if they own a console from the same manufacturer.
Another problem that has arisen in the last few hours is that relating to PC version. If you have already transferred your saves and character from console to computer in the past, it will be impossible to do the same for PS5 and Xbox Series X / S. The migration, while problematic, can currently only be done between console versions.
On your Twitter profile, Rockstar has confirmed that they are working to fix the problems, where they claim that users who have attempted to transfer data from console to PC are unable to "due to the previous migration of those accounts to PC".
We're currently working to resolve the issue with GTA Online profile migration for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S where those migrating from PS4 or Xbox One are currently blocked due to previously migrating those accounts to PC, and will update everyone once this is working as intended.

In any case, we remind you that the next-gen version of Grand Theft Auto V is available from March 15th on PlayStation 5 and on Xbox Series X / S.
