Whether you are working on a thesis or dissertation, you may need to add page numbers in Latin, Arabic and English in the same word document. For example, if it's a 5-page Word document, you might want to add Arabic page numbers on the first two pages and Latin page numbers on the next five.
However, this process may be new to many, and hence, we'll show you how to easily insert Roman, Arabic, and English page numbers into the same Word document.
Fixed: Insert Roman, Arabic and English page numbers in the same word file
Step 1: Open the Word document you want to edit. We opened a Word document with 7 pages. We want to put the page numbers in Roman in the first three pages and in Arabic in the next four.
Click on To insert tab in password toolbar at the top left. Click on Page number.
Step 2: Now select At the bottom of the page from the menu and select Simple number 3.
Step 3: The page number is automatically inserted in Arabic format, but, since then, we want it in Roman, we will sail back to Page number and click Format page numbers.
Step 4: In Page number format dialog box, select the file Roman numeric format (I, II, III,) from the drop-down menu and press ok.
Step 5: The page numbers on page one, two and three will now be displayed Roman. Click on Close header and footer.
Step 6: Next, we want the page numbers in Arabic formed by 4 ° page. So, we'll go to the bottom of the file 3 ° page and place the cursor at the end of the content.
Now click on disposal tab at the top of the toolbar and click Page setup.
Step 7: In Page setup dialog box, go to Apply to at the bottom and select From this point forward from the drop-down menu. Hit ok.
*Note - This will create a large blank on the fourth page. Use the Delete to return the page to normal.
Step 8: The page number will still be in Roman. Now go to the bottom of the file 4 ° page. Click the page number, go to Page number option in the upper left toolbar and click Format page numbers.
Step 9: In Page number format dialog box, select the file Arabic numeric format (1, 2, 3, …) from the drop-down menu, go to Page numbering section, select startand set the number to 1. Press ok.
