Windows 10 has an automatic screen brightness adjustment feature to save power on your computer. Although you can easily change the brightness levels in Windows 10 by clicking on the battery icon in the system tray and then clicking on the brightness icon. With each click, the screen brightness changes by 25%.
To do this, simply click on the battery icon located at the bottom right of the taskbar.
Once it appears, keep clicking on the brightness levels to change it incrementally by 25% each time.
Alternative method via settings
1 - Go to settings
2 - Click System.
3 - Now click on Monitor in the menu on the left.
4 - Now drag the slider to adjust the brightness level on your PC.
How to change the brightness level in the power plan
If you are not satisfied with this 25% one-click incremental change and want a fixed brightness level for your screen, you can use the method described below.
Step 1 - Right-click the battery icon on the taskbar and click adjust screen brightness, then manually adjust screen brightness.
When the power options window appears, drag the screen brightness levels to adjust the screen brightness.
Note that changes to screen brightness levels only apply to the current state of the current power plan. Once the power plan is changed or the current state of the power plan changes, the brightness changes. For example, your laptop is currently charging and the brightness changes, as soon as the laptop stops charging and runs on battery, the screen brightness will change to the levels defined in your power plan into the battery defined levels.
Let me explain a little more here about the power plans.
The power plan selected in this window is the current power plan.
Now let's say your laptop is
- Currently connected and in charge.
- Your current power plan is plan A
So if you drag and change the screen brightness, this setting will only remain in effect as long as you are on Plan A and your laptop is plugged in and charging.
If you want to see it, click change plan settings. The brightness level dragged to adjust is the same as the current state of the current power plan.
To set a fixed table brightness uniformly while loading and unloading, simply change the screen brightness of both and save your changes.
If you don't want to touch the settings for these plans, you can also create a new power plan for specific needs and set standard brightness levels and save your changes. For example, if you're creating a power scheme for your presentation, set defined brightness levels and save your changes. Before starting the presentation, simply select that particular power plan.

Enable the automatic screen brightness adjustment (brightness adaptation) feature in Windows 10
It is recommended to do this with the current or default plan. Let Windows 10 decide what brightness levels are optimal for you.
Step 1 - Right click on the battery icon and click on adjust screen brightness.
Step 2 - Now, click on Change plan settings of the selected power plan.
3 pass - Now click advanced power settings.
4 pass - Click on Monitor and then from the expanded list just expand enable adaptive brightness.
Now turn on the battery and the connected option one at a time. Finally, click Apply.
Now, Windows will automatically adjust the optimum screen brightness levels for your eyes while saving energy.
