How to bypass Windows 11 minimum installation requirements

Try these workarounds when your device doesn't meet the Windows 11 minimum system requirements to install the latest operating system.

The Windows 11 release has moved forward at a lightning-fast pace. The new version includes a lot of changes, which means there will be compatibility issues that you haven't previously encountered in Windows 10.

For Windows 11, your PC has to meet some stringent Microsoft requirements, which has caused a lot of confusion and frustration among users. Fortunately, there are several ways to bypass installation requirements and install Windows 11 on incompatible PCs, so all is not lost. So let's go see how we can get rid of the Windows 11 compatibility checks!

What are the Windows 11 installation requirements?

It is essential to understand that the minimum specifications required to install the new version of the operating system are different from the recommended specifications. Here is what is absolutely necessary:

  • 64-bit dual-core Intel, AMD, or Qualcomm processor running at 1 GHz or faster
  • At least 4 GB of RAM
  • At least 64GB of storage
  • UEFI Secure Boot supported and enabled
  • Un Trusted Platform Module (TPM), versione 2.0
  • It supports DirectX 12 or later, using WDDM 2.0 drivers
  • High definition display (720p), 9 ″ or higher monitor, 8 bits per color channel

Windows 11's stringent compatibility checks are more restrictive on processor requirements and older hardware is less likely to pass them. See our Windows 11 requirements guide for more information, which is especially useful if you want to run Windows 11 on a virtual machine.

Ignore TPM 2.0 and secure boot requirements with Rufus

Trusted Module Platform (TPM) protects data from hacking and other hardware-level threats. On the other hand, secure boot at UEFI level prevents any operating system not authorized by the user from booting.

Below we have listed the way around the TMP 2.0 and Secure Boot requirements for Windows 11 by creating a bootable USB with Rufus. Proceed with the one that suits you best.

Here's what you need to do:

  • If you don't already have the Windows 11 ISO file, go to the Windows 11 ISO file.
  • In the Download Windows 11 Disc Image (ISO) section, select Windows 11 and press Download .
  • Confirm your language choice to proceed.
  • Click the 64-Bit Download link to download the ISO file.
  • Once done, download.
  • To run Rufus, double-click the downloaded exe file.
  • Then connect the USB drive to the computer.
  • click on SELECT to select the downloaded ISO file.
  • In the Rufus dialog, expand the drop-down menu under Image and select the option Windows 11 Extended Installation (No TPM / No Secure Boot / 8GB-RAM) . By choosing this option, you will skip the Windows 2.0 Secure Boot and TPM 11 requirements, along with the minimum requirement of 8GB of RAM.
  • Finally, to create the Windows 11 installation media, click START .
