
In Windows 10, the command prompt has been revamped with some cool features. These features include changing the screen text and background colors. At the command prompt, changing the text on the screen changes the color of the command line items, while changing the background colors changes the color of the background screen.
This article will show you how to change the screen text and background colors at the command prompt. The steps involved in this process are as follows:
Step 1: Write "cmd“In the search bar located at the bottom left of the screen. Right click on “command prompt” and click on “open file path”.
This will open a Windows system folder which will consist of system tools such as Control Panel, Command Prompt, Default Programs, Devices, File Explorer, This PC (aka My Computer) and Windows Defender.
Step 2: Right click on "Command Prompt" and click on "Property". This will open the command prompt properties.
Step 3: Click on the "Colors" section. Choose the "Background" radio button if another button is selected and click any color to get a new background. You can see the color of your choice selected in the “Selected Screen Colors” option. Click "OK" to save the changes.
Step 4: To change the screen text, click the “Screen Text” radio button and choose the desired color. You can see the color of your choice selected in the “Selected Screen Colors” option. Click "OK" to save the changes.
