A cover is the first page of an article. The cover usually contains some sort of "introduction" or "abstract" of the article. Covers are also used in books with the help of some imaginary images to indicate the contents of the books.
Microsoft Word incorporates several types of cover pages so that when writing a word document you need to use the most essential cover page.

In this article, we will follow some steps to know how to create a cover in Microsoft Office 2016:
Type “word 2016” into the Windows search bar located next to the Start icon. Click on the first option provided.
Click the "Insert" tab located in the upper left corner of the "Word" window. After clicking, a toolbar will appear which provides numerous options such as page options, tables, illustrations, symbols, etc. Click on "Cover Page".
Select a cover plate template from the built-in cover plate templates included with Word 2016. For example, we have selected a cover plate called “Facet”.
Note: You can check other cover page templates by clicking “More cover pages from Office.com”.
After selecting the cover template, it will appear on the current word page.
Make appropriate changes to the cover page such as changing the "Document Title", "Document Subtitle", "Extract" and "Author Information".
Note: Choose an appropriate title page with reference to the context of the article. Selecting a suitable cover can increase reading interest among readers.
