
The local drives (C, D, etc.) present in Windows are actually a logical partition of the hard drive. It is a physical division of the hard drive into a logical structure that is typically seen in "My Computer" in previous versions of Windows and "This PC" in Windows PC.
Disk partitioning is useful in cases where specific files need to be stored on different disks. This helps the user to know which file is on which drive.

In this article, we will follow some steps on how delete a partition in Windows 10:
Step 1:
Click the "File Explorer" icon pinned on the Windows taskbar.
Step 2:
Look for “This PC” in the left corner of the screen. Right click on “This PC” and click on “Manage”. This will open the “Computer Management” window.
Step 3:
In the left corner of the screen, find "Storage". In the "Storage" section, click "Disk Management".
Disk Management lists important data such as the volume (disk) name, layout, volume type, file system, and health status of the disks.
Step 4:
In the bottom section of Disk Management, select a hard drive you want to remove. Right click on the selected hard drive and click “Delete Volume”.
Step 5:
A confirmation dialog box will appear on the screen saying “Deleting this volume will erase all data on it. Make a backup copy of the data you want to keep before deleting it. Do you want to continue?"
Click "OK" to apply the changes.
Note: Deleting the disk will show the disk size as “unallocated”. You can allocate this memory by combining it on another disk.
