Windows drivers ensure that all Windows functions continue to run smoothly on your system. Therefore, Microsoft continues to release driver updates on a regular basis via Windows Updates. Most drivers update automatically, ensuring that all drivers are up to date and that no unexpected errors or crashes will occur in the future.
However, there are some users who don't want any changes to the current driver settings and prefer things to stay as they are. They don't want to change the old driver settings and therefore want to disable automatic driver updates on their Windows 10 PC. Let's see how to disable driver updates.
Method 1: via system properties
Before making any changes to the file Registry EditorMake sure to create a backup of the log data so that in case of data loss, you can restore it.
Step 1: print Win + R keyboard shortcut key to open the file Run command.
Step 2: A Run command search box, type sysdm.cpl and hit Log in.
Step 3: Open the System properties window. Now go to Hardware tab and then press the button Device installation settings button.
4 phase: A Device installation settings pop-up, select the radio button next to No (your device may not work as expected) option.
Click on Save the changes to save the action and exit.
Now automatic driver update is disabled and your drivers should update automatically.

Method 2: editing the registry editor
Step 1: To go Home and write regedit in the Windows search field.
Step 2: Click on the result to open the file Registry Editor window.
Step 3: A Registry Editor window, type the path below in the address bar:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREpoliciesMicrosoftWindows
Right-click on the file windows folder on the left, select new from the context menu, then select Key.
4 phase: Rename the new one Key like Windows update.
Step 5: Now go to the right side of the panel and right click on an empty space. Please select New from the context menu and then select Valore DWORD (32 bit).
Step 6: Rename the new one Valore DWORD like Exclude WUDriversInQualityUpdate.
Step 7: Double click on Exclude WUDriversInQualityUpdate to open the file Edit DWORD (32-bit) value.
Now go to Valuable data and enter it 1. Press ok to save changes and exit.
* Note - You can cancel the change by setting the Valuable data go back to 0 every time you want to turn it back on.
Now, exit Registry Editor and restart your PC for the changes to take effect. The automatic driver update feature is now disabled and your PC's drivers should no longer update automatically.
