Field Shading is a new concept found in Microsoft Word 16. It helps you find various fields in your documents as quickly as possible. This happens when you simply select the field or move the insertion point over it, causing the Word app to highlight the result of the entire field. This is essentially useful when viewing them on small devices like tablets or laptops. While it has its benefits, it can be distracting for some of us, and at times, you'll want to disable it.
When you select or place an insertion point in a field, it appears shaded. When you select the entire field, it becomes shaded and highlighted.
Now scroll through the different steps to do it.
Disable the field shading feature
Step 1: Open the Microsoft Word 2016 application from the search menu. This requires that you have already downloaded the Office 16 package. It is available as a trial version for the first month and you will need to sign up thereafter.
Step 2: Open the file Recent which is present in the upper left corner to select the file of your choice. Contains the most recently created Word files.
Step 3: Click Choices option by scrolling down to choose File Options from the top menu.
Step 4:
After clicking on the Options menu, the following window will appear. Advanced option from the left side of the pop-up window.
When you click on it, you will find on the right hand side various configuration options like user interface, boot options, etc., which you can modify without security restrictions.
Step 5: Now comes the step to actually perform the desired task. Scroll down to the lists below the file Show the content of the document where you will find an option called field shading.
When you click on the text box next to it, you will be taken to three options where you will need to click Mai option.
Once you've done all of this, you'll never have to deal with the distractions of pitch shading again.
