Whenever your computer logs on, some programs start automatically without any user permission. These programs are called "Startup Programs". Installing different software and applications on the laptop makes it take longer for the computer to start up. As they consume a lot of startup time, they make your PC run slowly.
This article will show you how to avoid "startup programs" in Windows 10:
Step 1:
Click on the Windows search bar located at the bottom left of the screen. Type “msconfig” and click on the first option provided to open System Configuration.
Alternatively, you can click on “See which process starts automatically when Windows starts” to go directly to the Start option in the Task Manager.
Note: If you are using an older version of Windows 10 (earlier versions of Technical Preview), it may not have this feature.
Step 2:
Find "Start" and click on it. Then click "Open Task Manager".
Step 3:
Click on one of the startup items and then click the "Disable" button in the lower right corner of the window.
So, by following these steps, you can disable startup programs and make your computer run faster.
Note: You can access the Task Manager directly without going to System Settings. Just right click on the “Start” icon in the lower left corner of the screen and click on “Task Manager”.
