
You are trying to install a particular program and you get an error message that says: "Error 1316. The specified account already existsOn your Windows 10 PC. It can be completely frustrating, especially when you want to install something important related to your work.
Fortunately, however, this error can be corrected and you can continue to install the program without any problems. Let's see how.
Method 1: use registry editor
Step 1: press the Tasto Windows + R together on the keyboard to open the file run I send. Now Write regedit in the search field and press Log in.
Step 2: A Registry Editor window, go to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE
Find the program you are trying to install on Software key. For example, we are trying to install Techsmith Snagit, but we can't, so we'll select the input for Techsmith, right-click on it and click To remove button.
Step 3: But if you can't find the program in the Software , go to the following path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREWOW6432Node
Or just find the file WOW6432Node entrance under the Software and click on it to expand. Now find the program, select it, right click on it and click To remove.
You can now complete the installation of your program. But if that doesn't work, try the second method.
Method 2: via services
Step 1: Go to Home at the desk and type Services. Click on the result.
Step 2: A Services window, on the right side, go to Your name columns, find installation window and double click on it.
Step 3: A Windows Installer Properties dialog box, select the file Status of the service section. If it shows Arrestedclick here Home to start the service.
press the ok to save changes and exit.
Now you can easily finish installing the program. However, if the problem persists, try the third method.
Method 3: Using Command Prompt
Step 1: Go to Home at the desk and type Symbol of the system in the search field. Right-click on the result and select Run as administrator.
Step 2: A Symbol of the system window, run the following command one by one and keep pressing Log in whenever:
MSIEXEC /UNREGISTER MSIEXEC /REGSERVER
This should fix your problem and the error should go away. If the problem persists, follow the fourth method.
Method 4: run the program as an administrator
Step 1: Go to the program installation file on your desktop and right-click on it. Now select Run as administrator.
For example, let's select Snagit’s configure the file on the desktop, right click on it and select Run as administrator. This way, you can easily complete the program installation.
That's all. The error should no longer appear and you should be able to install the program comfortably.
