Sometimes the keyboard may not work properly, for example some keys may stop working or some keys may continue typing automatically. This is a hardware related problem. While you can fix this by replacing the keyboard, it can be an expensive affair for a laptop.
So is this an easy way out? Yes of course. Let's find out how to solve this problem.
Method 1: when you know which key has the problem
Step 1: Go to your browser, paste the following link in KeyTweak in the address browser and press Log in.
https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/keytweak.html
Now, click on the file download to download the configuration file.
Step 2: After completing the software installation, open the file KeyTweak and on the keyboard map, select the key that does not work or creates a problem. Now click deactivate.
For example, for us, the space bar The key doesn't work, so let's select the file space bar (61) and pressed deactivate.
Step 3: You can now reassign your file space bar key for another key you are barely using.
For example, we have a Dell laptop that has two OTHER keys on both sides of space bar. Then, we will reassign the file space bar key to the second OTHER button on the right side of the space bar.
Click on Partial learning mode and in the dialog that opens, click Scan a single key.
Step 4: Now, press the key on your keyboard that you now want to use instead of space bar. Here, we press the OTHER key on our keyboard.
Now select the file Destination key from the drop-down list. This should be the key that doesn't work and you want to change. Then, we will select the file Spazio key here.
Then click Re asign.
Step 5: Now click To apply and then in the message, click Yup. Restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
This will solve your problem. However, when you don't know which key is creating the problem, try the second method.
Method 2: when you don't know which key is creating the problem
Step 1: Go to your browser, paste the following link into the address browser and press Log in.
https://www.passmark.com/products/keytest/
Now click on the file download to download the configuration file.
* Note - This is paid software, so you will need to purchase the license first to continue.
Step 2: Once installed, you can press the keys on the keyboard map to check which key is damaged. Those that work well will be highlighted in green and the defective keys will be highlighted in red.
Once you have identified which key is faulty, you can try the file 1 method to disable it and reassign the key to another.
