We should all keep installing the latest Windows updates as they become available, to improve the health of our system. However, at times, you may get unexpected errors that prevent you from continuing with the update. One such problem is the Windows update error 80070436 in Windows 10 which can be really frustrating.
This error is apparently a bug or rather a code that appears in almost all versions of Windows, including Windows 10. However, the good thing is that this error can be fixed quite easily. Let's see how.
Method 1: Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter
Step 1: Go to Home at the desk and type Control Panel. Left click on the result to open the file Control Panel window.
Step 2: A Control Panel window, select for View by - Large icons then click Troubleshooting.
Step 3: In the next window, click See more on the left side of the panel.
4 phase: In the next window, Troubleshoot computer problems, locate and click Windows update.
Step 5: A Windows update window, click The next and follow the troubleshooting instructions to find and fix the problem.
Once the troubleshooting is complete and the error corrected, restart your PC and try to download and install the update, which should update without a problem. But if the problem persists, try the second method.
Method 2: restore Windows Update components
Step 1: Go to Home at the desk and type Symbol of the system in the search field. Right-click on the result and select Run as administrator to open the file Symbol of the system window with administrator rights.
Step 2: A Symbol of the system in the window, type the following commands one by one and press Log in after each command:
net stop wuauerv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
This will stop the file BITS, crypto, MSI installere Windows Update Services .
Step 3: Now, type the following commands one by one and then press Log in after each command:
This will change the file name Software distribution e Catroot2 binder.
4 phase: Type the following commands one by one and press Log in after each command:
net stop wuauerv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
This will restart the BITS, crypto, MSI installere Windows Update Services.
Now close the file Symbol of the system , restart your PC and try to download and install Windows updates and you should no longer see error 80070436.
