
You are working on a Word document and suddenly it accidentally shuts down, due to an error or your computer restarts, without saving the document. This can be scary, especially if it's an important document and if you've already written substantially. The thought of rewriting the entire document can be frightening.
However, there is nothing to worry about, as luckily there are a couple of ways to recover your unsaved Word document. The methods we are going to talk about, apply to MS Word from 2007 to 2019. So, let's see how to recover lost documents in MS Word.
Method 1: using Open on the File tab
Step 1: Open a blank space password file and go to Fillet tab at the top left of the document.
Step 2: In the context menu, click Open.
Step 3: Now, on the right side of the pane, click Recover unsaved documents at the bottom of the document.
Step 4: From File Explorer, select the file you want to recover and click Open.
Step 5: Click on Save eat and save the document in the desired location.
So, now you have recovered the unsaved document. But, if you don't get the above option, try the second method.
Method 2: Using the Info option on the File tab
Step 1: Follow Step 1 starting from 1 method to go to the Fillet Tab.
Step 2: In the context menu, click Information. Then on the right side, click Manage document and from the drop-down menu select Recover unsaved documents.
Now follow 4 pass e 5 pass starting from 1 method to retrieve the unsaved document and save it in the desired location. But if that doesn't work, you can try the third method.
Method 3: using AppData
Step 1: press the Tasto Windows + R together on the keyboard to open the file Run command. Now type appdata in the search box and press enter. This will open the file AppData folder in the file File Explorer.
Step 2: In AppData folder, copy and paste the path below and press enter:
C:UsersmadhuAppDataLocalMicrosoftOfficeUnsavedFiles
This will take you to the location of the unsaved files in the file AppData folder. Now follow the file Step 4 and 5 starting from 1 method to retrieve the desired file and save it in your preferred location.
