Windows 10 has created a lot of new features and has also kept some old features from previous versions. One of those old features includes our Windows clock, right in the lower right corner of the Windows screen. Of course, some users find it very useful as the clock quickly tells us what day and time it is. But is it applicable to everyone? Absolutely not! Some users want their desktop to be as clean as a whistle. Surely for these users, an imposed clock has a problem to deal with. Some other users prefer to use some third party applications to check the date and time. So actually being in control of what is displayed on the Windows screen is very important. Don't worry, Windows definitely has a solution for everything. You just have to find it. Read on to find out how to remove the clock icon from the Windows taskbar and restore it later.

The procedure is somewhat the same for all versions of Windows. If you have been using Windows 7 at some point in your life, you will surely find the steps quite easy to understand and perform as it is almost the same for both versions.
- First, hover your mouse over the lower right corner of the Windows screen. There you will find the clock icon.
- Right click on the clock icon. Right-clicking on the clock icon will bring up a small window. Choose Customize Notification Icons from it.
- You will see a list of items that you can choose from. However, we are looking for personalize Notifications and actions.
In the notifications and actions panel, search Turn system icons on or off. Clicking on it will take you to another window where you can perform the desired action.
- You will see an entry for the clock icon. It will be enabled by default. You have to turn it off to remove the clock icon from the system tray. Just turn off the switch at the entrance to the clock.
The change is immediate. No need to save, no need to restart. You can see the missing clock on the taskbar. It's that simple.
Reset the clock icon
Restoring the clock icon to its previous position is not difficult at all. You can simply go to the Settings page from the Start menu.
Once you are on the settings page, you can find the Notifications and actions tab just like before. From there, click Turn system icons on or off. Now flip the switch from off to on at the clock entrance so that your old clock clicks back into place, all smiling and happy.
