Maintenance is the key part of the “System and Security” settings in the “Control Panel”. Like previous versions of Windows, Windows 10 also offers the automatic maintenance feature.

Tasks scheduled to run in Automatic Maintenance are responsible for updating software (i.e. system software), checking for security issues, and diagnosing errors.
Maintenance activities are carried out regularly. Generally, these tasks are performed when the PC is not in use (idle mode). If the computer is detected as “in use” when maintenance activities are about to take place, these activities will be performed the next time the PC is idle.

How to set up scheduled maintenance in Windows 10
For this step, find safety and maintenance in the search box
Then click Maintenance and then click change the maintenance settings
Select the preferred time to perform the maintenance task on a daily basis and enable the check mark “allow scheduled maintenance to wake the computer at the scheduled time”.

How to manually start maintenance in Windows 10:
Step 1:
Right click on the “Start” icon located in the lower left corner of the screen. Click on "Control Panel".
Step 2:
When selecting the “Category” view, click “System and Security”.
Step 3:
Click on "Security and Maintenance".
Step 4:
Displays the "Maintenance" section. Click on “Start Maintenance”.
Final report: Windows will perform all maintenance related tasks.
After starting the maintenance, you can stop it by clicking on "Stop maintenance".
All scheduled tasks will stop in seconds and you will have the option to "Start" again.
You can also change the maintenance settings to allow Scheduled maintenance to wake up your computer at a scheduled time. It will also help to perform the maintenance task at a specific time.
