Sharing files in Windows 7 or Windows 8 provided the means to use several PCs connected to a network. If other home PCs were linked together, they would need a home group network. With the help of the home group network, they browsed and searched for files on other PCs or shared printers and other devices.
In the case of Windows 10, sharing files just got a lot easier. For a user to be able to share files located on any of the hard drives, they must click File Explorer and use an appropriate sharing method.
In this article, we will learn the methods to share files via the mail application in Windows 10:
Method 1: using share
The "Share" feature is the simplest of all sharing options in Windows 10. To use the "Share" feature, select any file located on a hard drive and then click on the "Share" tab located in up from the screen.
Now, click on the “Share” icon at the bottom of the Share tab.
Now, the PC will show all applications that have the sharing function. You can select the appropriate application to share.
Method 2: use email
The “Email” function is used to attach files in an email. This feature can be used effectively with the help of email clients like Microsoft Outlook, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc. To use the above method, click the "Share" tab in File Explorer and then click "Email".
If the file size is large
The “Zip” function compresses a file into a .zip file with a rename option. This feature is very useful in cases where the file size is large. To use the "Zip" function, click the "Share" tab in File Explorer and then click "Zip".
The same file with the .zip extension is created which can be easily shared.
