Many times, it is very important for us to monitor the use of our network. There may be several applications running on the system, consuming a varying amount of network data. You can access the network from portable access points from your smartphones or from a Wi-Fi connection at your residence or in any organization. In cases where we do not have access to unlimited data, we will be somewhat aware of the uses of the data.
There are methods to discover the network uses of the main applications directly from the Task Manager. But it wouldn't involve non-core apps like Google Chrome or Skype, which are of the utmost importance to us. To get started, let's see how we can get the data usage information from Task Manager..
1 STEP
Open the Task Manager By pressing Ctrl + Shift + Esc. Alternatively, you can also get it by right-clicking on the taskbar.

From the different tabs that appear in the top menu, choose the option Application history. Numerous apps appear along with the data usage. Note that not all applications appear here. You can sort them based on CPU time, measured connection for more detailed information.
If you feel put off that Task Manager shows data usage for only the best apps, that's not necessary for now. There are some tips and tricks that you can view from Microsoft for each application. So let's start digging deeper.

Open the settings from the Start menu that appears at the bottom of the Windows desktop.

Now, in the window that appears, choose the option Network and internet which will appear at the top.

You will now find the option in the left panel Use of data. Click on it to find your total data usage over the past 30 days on the right. Just below the ring on the right, you will find the option Usage detailsClick on it.

Your hunt ends here. Now you can even find individual non-core apps along with their corresponding data uses. With this, from now on you can monitor all data consumption.
As you can see, Chrome consumes 274MB, which is quite large!
