You try to open a program on your Windows 10 PC and you get an error message that says: "it is not a valid Win32 application". It can be frustrating, especially if it's an important app you want to open right now. This could be because the file or program you are trying to open is missing or damaged. This is when your Windows PC cannot properly execute the file.
Although you can try uninstalling and reinstalling the program to check if it works properly again, if not, you still have some outputs.
Let's see how to fix this error on your Windows 10 PC.
Method 1: use program properties
Step 1: Right click on the program and select Property from the context menu. Here we are trying to open Paint.net.
Step 2: A Property window, click Compatibility language. Now, in the Settings option, check the box next to Run this program as an administrator. Click on To apply e ok to save changes and exit.
This should fix the problem and the error should go away. However, if the problem persists, try the second method.
Method 2: using sfc / scannow
Step 1: Click on Home at the desk and type Symbol of the system. Right-click on the result and click Run as administrator.
Step 2: A Symbol of the system window, type the command - SFC / scannow and hit Log in.
Now it will start scanning your PC for corrupt files and even repairing them. Restart your PC and your program should work fine now.
