Microsoft Store apps are not automatically updated in Windows 10 Fix

Microsoft makes sure that all of its Windows applications, including Microsoft Store applications, are automatically updated. This helps you stay on the latest version of all apps with minimal hassle. Apparently this automatic update feature for Microsoft Store apps was introduced with update KB 2919355.

However, users have complained that Microsoft Store applications are not automatically updated on their Windows 10 PC. When you open the Store, the available application updates are displayed and that you need to download them manually.

According to Microsoft, there is a possibility that you are using a statically aligned PAC (Automatic Proxy Configuration) file and that it is causing the problem. Fortunately, there are a couple of methods available that can fix the problem that applications don't update automatically. Let's see how.

Method 1: Make sure the settings are active

The Automatically update apps option in Settings may be disabled. So double check if it's on, if not turn it on.

Step 1: Navigate to Home button (windows icon) in the lower left corner of the desktop and type Microsoft Store in the search box.
