Overwatch 2 was released on October 4, 2022 well in advance of the date initially announced. Often the games at launch have problems and the possibility that it could also touch its new one shooter had been contemplated by Blizzard that, just in anticipation of this, yesterday had closed the servers of the first Overwatch. To accompany the first bugs discovered by the players, however, something unexpected also seems to have happened, among the main causes of the server malfunctioning there seems to be an attack DDoS (Distributed Denial of Service).
A server slowdown was undoubtedly to be expected, the game was released in free to play and it is not surprising that tens of thousands of players were willing to try it right on the day of the launch but Blizzard had not considered a hacker attack, among other things that already happened during the year. The same president of Blizzard, Mike Ybarra, its Twitter he initially appears convinced that these are normal malfunctions due to the crowd of players and then corrects himself by informing us of the attack.
As already mentioned, the malfunction of the servers was accompanied by the first bugs discovered by the players, we are talking about objects and currencies that have disappeared and the inability to move to certain areas of the map. Overwatch 2 only came out yesterday and the developers clearly still have a lot to work on for now; we just have to give them the necessary time and wait to fully enjoy this new Blizzard title.
