[Solved] Windows 10 search doesn't work

Search was always present in Windows, but as it progressed with the release, Microsoft realized the importance of search and continued to improve the feature with each update. It was virtually invisible in Windows XP, became a localized search option in Windows 7, started including web search results in Windows 8 / 8.1, and finally introduced Cortana in Windows 10.

However, as they continued to make the search option more and more complex, the possibility of errors increased proportionally. A known issue with the Search / Cortana switch in Windows 10 is when it stops providing results. You can search for the most common applications (eg Notepad) and it would display "no results" or sometimes nothing.
