Drivers in systems are chipset-specific, although they are also designed by the system manufacturer. Intel typically manufactures the core components of the chip, especially the processor. However, when users try to update drivers, which are generally Intel's drivers, they might get the error:
The installed driver is not validated for this computer.
Why
The reason for this error is that some system manufacturers like HP want to force users to download drivers from their websites. To do this, they make it difficult to download drivers from the Intel website.
This is especially true with graphics drivers, even more so when using a dedicated graphics card. I've always suggested downloading the graphics drivers from the manufacturer's website, however if you want to use Intel drivers the same might be forced.
Solution 1] Try to automatically update the drivers from the Intel website instead of updating them
1] Go to Intel Download Center
and click Automatically update your drivers.
2] Allow the process to update the drivers and then reboot the system.
Solution 2] Force installation of Intel drivers
1] Download the drivers from the Intel website here.
2] Press Win + R to open the Run window. Write the command devmgmt.msc and press Enter to open Device Manager.
3] As mentioned above, this problem is mainly caused by graphics drivers, so expand the column for video adapters and check the driver you want to reinstall.
4] Right-click the driver and select Update Driver.
5] I would give 2 options. One would be to automatically search for drivers and the second would be “Search my computer for driver software”.
6] In the next window, select the option “Let me choose from a list of drivers available on my computer”.
7] Click Have Disk at the bottom right of the screen.
8] Click Browse and select the installed drivers from the Intel website, wherever they are stored.
9] Allow the installation process to complete and restart the system.
Note: The drivers are clearly visible in size and the reason we recommend downloading Intel drivers instead of the ones from the manufacturer's website is that Intel continues to update versions to accommodate the latest games. The same can be checked on the Intel Download Center page mentioned above before deciding if it would be a good idea to download the drivers.
