Windows 10 always shows an incorrect date and time problem [Fixed]

If your computer shows the wrong date or time, you will face significant difficulties in some applications, especially if you are browsing. To fix this, follow these simple fixes and your computer will show the correct time and date just like before.

Fix-1 Set the time automatically-

You can always enable your computer to show the time automatically.

1. Press Tasto Windows + I together to open window settings on your computer.

2. Now, click on “Time and language”In the settings window.

3. In window settings, on the left side click on “Appointment".

4. Now, on the right side of the same window, under Current date and time settings, turn on "Set the time automatically" for "Top".

Close window settings e start again your computer.

Check if it works or not.

Fix-2 Automate Windows Time Service-

Automate Windows Now service on your computer.

1. Click the Search Box next to the Windows icon and then type "Services".

2. Now, click on “Services“In the search results to open the Services window.

3. In the Services window, scroll down and double click over it "Windows time".

4. In the Windows Time Properties window, click on 'Startup Type:' and then choose 'Automatic“From the drop-down list.

5. Now, click on “Home“To start the service on your computer.

6. Finally, click on "To apply"And then on"ok“To save the changes.

Near Window Services.

Restart your computer to see changes on your computer.

After rebooting, check the date and time settings on your computer.

Fix-3 Set time according to Internet time settings-

1. Press Tasto Windows + R launch Running window on your computer.

2. Type this run command in Run window and then press enter. Date and time window will open.

2. In the Date and Time window, go to "Internet time"Tab and then click"Change settings ...".

3. In the Internet Time Settings window, select the option “Synchronize with an Internet time server".

4. Now click on 'Server:' and choose 'time.windows. with“Server from the drop-down menu.

5. Then click on "Update now". Finally, click on "ok“To save the changes on your computer.

6. In the Date and Time settings window, click "To apply"And"ok“To save the changes on your computer.

Close window settings. Check if you are still facing the same problem in the end or not. Your problem should be solved.

Fix-4 Reset w3time.dll from CMD-

Re-registering w3time.dll from Command Prompt might work for you.

1. Click the Search Box next to the Windows icon and then type "cmd".

2. Hence, click destroy over it "Command Prompt"In the search result with elevated privileges and choose"Run as administrator".

Command prompt with administrative rights will open.

3. In the Command Prompt window, copy paste this command and then press enter to run it on your computer.

regsvr32 w3time.dll

After running the command, close the Command Prompt window.

Restart your computer to save the changes.

Check if it works or not.

Fix-5 Set time and date manually-

If nothing works, set the time and date manually -

1. Press Tasto Windows + I together to open window settings on your computer.

2. Now, click on “Time and language”In the settings window.

2. Under Time and language settings, on the left side click "Appointment"

3. Then on the right side of the same window, under Current date and time settings, activate "Set the time automatically" for "off".

4. Now, under "Set the date and time manually ', click on"Modify".

5. In the Change Date and Time window, click "Data“To change the date to the actual date.

6. Repeat the same feat for "Time“Setting the right time.

7. Now, click on “Modify".

8. Now, in the Settings window, scroll down and find 'Time Zone'.

9. Click the drop-down menu and select the time zone you are currently in*.

*NOTE- You will notice the same time zone for a variety of locations. Choose the time zone you are in.

Close window settings.

Now, restart your computer.

After restarting, check the date and time settings.

Your problem will be solved.

Fix-6 using the registry editor

1. Press WWindows key + R key together to open run.

2. Now, type regedit into it and click ok.

3. After opening, make a backup of your registry before proceeding.

Now move to the following location in the registry editor.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESYSTEMCurrentControlSet

4. Now, locate ControlTimeZoneInformation in the left menu, if it does not exist, right click on CurrentControlSet and create a new key.

5. denomination ControlTimeZoneInformation .

6. Now, on the right side, right-click on any blank space anywhere and click New> Dword (64 bit).

Call it like RealTimeIsUniversal .

7. Double click on RealTimeIsUniversal . Change the value data to 1.

Final report: If the problem persists, try changing the BIOS battery as that could be the reason. Since the BIOS has no battery backup, it cannot update the time after the computer is turned off.
